Let's Talk About Breasts
This Breast Cancer Awareness month, we have partnered with The Pink Agenda, a non-profit dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research and care, to support awareness of the disease among young professionals.
As we all have the potential to experience breast health challenges, our 'Awareness is Power' campaign sheds light on breast cancer and other health issues that can affect women.
Why Care About Breast Health?
-
Breast cancer is the most common cancer worldwide.
Breast cancer surpassed lung cancer in 2020, with 2.3 million new cases each year.
1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. -
Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in young adults aged 15-39.
Breast cancer in young women tends to be more aggressive with lower survival rates. -
Young women with breast cancer are more likely to experience emotional distress.
The disease forces them to face unique lifestyle challenges due to their age.
How Can You Take Action?
1) GET SCREENED - Schedule a breast exam with your healthcare provider. Women should start getting clinical breast exams at age 25 and mammograms annually over the age of 40.
2) SPREAD THE WORD - Share statistics and resources about breast cancer with your loved ones and remind them of the importance of routine screenings.
3) DONATE - Support organizations advancing breast cancer care and research. We're proud to support The Pink Agenda, which is committed to raising money for research and care, and spreading awareness of the disease among young professionals.
How is NEIWAI Helping?
